Microsoft recently announced that the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase will be returning this June, and while we can be reasonably certain that Starfield and Redfall – both of which are due out this year – will have a presence at the show, there isn’t much else that we can be too confident about showing up as things stand right now.

Even so, the new Forza Motorsport is a name that’s been mentioned by many, given the fact that it’s been a couple of years since it was announced, and no more updates on it have followed since then. Speaking during a recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast, Windows Central’s Jez Corden speculated that the game might indeed be shown off at the event, based on the fact that it “has been in beta” and in playtesting for a while now. Interestingly, Corden mentioned that it has also been played by some influencers.

And as it turns out, that’s not the only recent Forza-related leak that’s caught people’s attention. Over on Reddit, a user has claimed that Forza Motorsport is not going be be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S, as it was announced to be back when it was unveiled, and that it will also launch for Xbox One. The user has shared a couple of off-screen images showing the game running on an Xbox One, the validity of which has been verified by Reddit mods.

It’s worth keeping in mind that a game being playtested on a particular platform isn’t necessarily indication that it will launch for it, since it’s not uncommon for developers to choose to test it on weaker hardware (which would also be easier to control for leaks as opposed to a low-spec PC).

Forza Motorsport developer Turn 10 has also called the game “a huge generational leap”, which might also suggest that it’s built natively around much more powerful hardware than its predecessors on the Xbox One.

Either way, with the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase arriving in a little over a month, it’s likely that we’ll have an answer from Microsoft soon enough. Stay tuned until then for any and all updates.
