Over the last couple of years I’ve had the opportunity to travel to some incredible destinations across the globe. From Nassau to Barcelona and Reykjavik in between, I’ve gotten my share of nature and urban cities. But nothing prepared me for the natural wonders and beauty that lay in my own Canadian backyard. But for this adventure, I wanted to push myself further—to navigate these raw landscapes and truly experience the wilderness. So it was only fitting that my adventure to the picturesque Canadian outdoors came at the invitation of Citizen Watch Canada, a brand synonymous with pushing boundaries. The task was straightforward…to go beyond. To go further.

Arriving at CMH Bugaboos Lodge

The Canadian Rockies stretch across western Canada, their jagged peaks rising like ancient guardians of the wild. For adventurers, this is sacred ground—a place where nature’s beauty and power come together in awe-inspiring harmony. Equipped with my gear, a sense of excitement, and a solid companion—my Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T, I was ready for whatever the Rockies had in store. The watch wasn’t just a style choice; it was an essential part of my expedition.

My journey started at the highly regarded CMH Bugaboos Lodge. As the helicopter descended toward the lodge, nestled deep in the heart of the Bugaboo Provincial Park, my anticipation surged. The lodge itself felt like something out of a dream, tucked into the base of towering granite spires that reached toward the sky. It’s one of the most remote and exclusive lodges in the Rockies, renowned for its luxury and proximity to some of the most breathtaking terrain in the world.

I stepped off the helicopter into the crisp, cool mountain air. Immediately, the grandeur of the landscape hit me—soaring glaciers, pristine valleys, and rugged mountain faces. The Bugaboos are famous for their remoteness, but the lodge itself offered a cozy haven with the finest amenities. After a hearty meal and orientation with our guides, I prepared for the first adventure—a trek across the terrain. Back into the heli we went and up and away but despite how much higher we climbed, the peaks didn’t get that much smaller. A reminder of how big they are and more importantly, how small we really are.

Heli hiking

I recall stepping out of the chopper on top of the mountain, getting my bearings (heli’s take a few trips to adjust to) and now I was ready. The group that had arrived prior to mine was already taking selfies, videos and producing a particular tik tok trend. It wasn’t until I looked in the opposite direction that I stopped in my tracks and lost my words. As a podcaster, you never lose your words. It was like something I’d seen on computer screensavers as a kid. Breathtaking.

After snapping some photos and some vids, so I can show off on my socials of course, it was time to go on our first official trek. My guide Roko, of whom no amount of description could do justice to the character that he is, decided for the “fast” group, he was going to run. I thought he was joking. Roko started running. First lesson.

I must also admit, I didn’t realize how much harder it is to run at that altitude and suddenly I questioned my decision to have that extra loaf of bread. Rookie mistake. Second lesson. After stopping to take in the epic views at the top of our trek, we noticed a natural lake built into the mountains at a distance. One we’d visit a few days later. But the main lesson of the day was one I’d never forget. Stand a full body’s length away from the edge. Because if you’re too close and you find yourself losing your footing, well… “you’re fucking golden” as Roko would say.

A reliable companion: The Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T

I’ve been on several brand trips before and the ones that stand out are the ones that put the product to the test in the environment they are meant to be in. So before setting out, I took a moment to check my Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T. This beautifully crafted piece of wristwear was to be my companion for the trip. As a multi-functional watch designed for adventure, it offered absolute precision, look and feel. The type to suit any modern gent.

The Eco-Drive technology was especially useful, as it runs on light, meaning I didn’t have to worry about charging or changing batteries—an essential feature for a multi-day mountain adventure. With its super titanium case, it remained lightweight but durable, ensuring that it could withstand any accidental knocks, and believe me, there were several. It felt like I was wearing more than just a watch, it was a swiss-army knife on my wrist and I was prepared to take on the challenges ahead.

Promasters in the wild

It’s not everyday you get to trek through the Canadian rockies at crazy high altitudes with beautiful scenery. It’s even less likely you’ll get to do it while surrounded by some of the world’s greatest adventure seekers and trendsetters.

Image: L-R Jeff Shapiro, William Drumm, Jody Macdonald, Will Gadd; image by troy barmore

Let’s start by getting formal introductions out of the way. Jeff Shapiro is a wingsuit pilot…I could stop there but it goes on. He’s a rock climber and paraglider. William Drumm is a world renowned diver with significant expeditions under his belt including some work with Billie Eilish. Jody MacDonald is an award-winning adventure photographer and explorer known for capturing images off the beaten path. Finally is Will Gadd, a legendary Canadian climber, paraglider and world record holder. When you’re surrounded by this caliber of people, it’s not hard to be sucked into their world and just listen as they talk about the challenges and hurdles they’ve overcome over years of honing their craft. If these legends decided to join forces and become Promasters, it should tell you something. They embodied what Citizen stands for. Going further, deeper and beyond.

The Ascent: Climbing Through the Clouds

As we ascended higher into the Rockies, the terrain shifted from soft alpine meadows to jagged rock formations. It was tough going, but the rewards were worth it: shimmering alpine lakes that mirrored the surrounding peaks and untouched valleys. After hours of hiking, we reached a high ridge that offered unparalleled panoramic views. The horizon seemed endless, with glaciers glinting in the sunlight and distant peaks disappearing into the clouds. This was the essence of adventure—being surrounded by something far greater than yourself.

My Skyhawk, with its anti-reflective sapphire crystal dial, remained clear and readable even in the bright alpine sun. Its water resistant nature soon to be tested by mountain weather. This would later come in handy – read on to find out about an unexpected 6 hour trek in the pouring rain.

2 hours away from being 2 hours away

On what ended up being the last hike of this adventure, a group of us, guide included (Roko of course), decided to take an easy trek. One, maybe two hours of hiking before the heli would pick us back up. Except as soon as we landed and the heli flew off, there was something eerie about the clouds quickly converging over us. Not long after, downpour. Thus began what would be the most challenging part of this journey.

image: (L) will gadd (R) Tyson Apostol canyoning; image credit troy barmore

The only way back was through. Through the mountain wilderness, the wet ground beneath and the miserable grey that covered us. I knew this wasn’t going to be easy. I wasn’t worried about the physical, it was a mental game. Can I survive unrelenting conditions with literally no escape option but the path ahead? Every so often Roko would yodel, to which I came to understand was a way to inform any nearby bears that we exist and are trekking through. Did I forget to mention bears? Roko had stopped at one point to intensely scan his surroundings before pulling out his bear spray…uh oh. Suddenly we’re all on high alert and of course in that moment my balance decided to disappear and next thing I know I’m in a pool of water.

credit garrett Jones of worn & wound

Back up and functional, the trek continued. “How much longer?” someone dared ask. “Two hours away” Roko remarked. Except he would later state “we’re about two hours away from being two hours away” half jokingly half serious. At that point the only thing distracting the group was a debate about whether we’d prefer beautifully seasoned and tasty ribs or, my personal favourite, chicken wings back at the lodge. We need to build up a reward for the trek we were on.

By the time we finally returned to the lodge, soaked to the bones, the sun was beginning to set. The long, physically demanding day had given me a deeper appreciation for the Rockies and the unique adventure I was just on. I was miserable, I was angry but I survived. As I shed my gear and looked at the time, my Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T reflecting the long journey I was on, reminded me of its durability. Despite being exposed the entirety of the journey, it was the only piece of gear that went unscathed. Couldn’t say the same for my camera…or my phone.

Go beyond

The Rockies demand respect, but they also offer unparalleled rewards for those willing to push beyond their limits. Whether you’re navigating treacherous glaciers or relaxing at the Bugaboos Lodge, the right gear makes all the difference. The Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T wasn’t just a watch; it was my reliable companion, offering precision, durability, and style in one. From the breathtaking peaks of the Canadian Rockies to the everyday city hustle, this watch is built for adventure. It serves as a reminder that, like the mountains themselves, life is best when you’re fully prepared and ready to embrace the unknown.

The Citizen way

In 2023, I participated in a similar trip with Citizen in Nassau. We took the slogan of go deeper quite literal as we went diving with sharks in the ocean. Yes you read that right. I recall receiving the press guide with shark info and thinking to myself – it’s best not to think about it. There are brands that say they want to push the limits and then there are even fewer brands that PUSH the limits. Citizen is one of those brands.

image: (L) Samir Mourani, (R) Zahra Hemraj; credit troy barmore

So when Zahra Hemraj, the Director of Marketing & Data Integration, sent me a text asking me how I felt about hiking in the Rockies, I knew it was going to push my limits again. When she sent the press materials and included several pages about bear awareness…well I reminded myself it was best not to think about it. This was the adventure of a lifetime. A perfect blend of exploration, relaxation and incredible humans. Thank you Citizen, thank you Zahra, thank you to the CMH guides who made taking care of a group of first-timers look effortless.

Image: the promaster citizen watch press team

I packed my bags, said my goodbyes and hopped onto the heli but not before one last look at the screensaver. I’ll be back soon. When I am, you can bet I’ll have my wrist gear ready to go with me.

If you’re planning a getaway trip to Toronto, you want a hotel that could provide a blend of luxury, convenience, and an authentic experience of the city’s vibrant atmosphere. The InterContinental Toronto Centre, an IHG property, perfectly fits that bill. Nestled in the heart of downtown, this hotel not only offered world-class amenities but also placed me within walking distance of Toronto’s top attractions. I had the opportunity to experience a mini staycation at the InterContinental so here’s a detailed look at my stay, from the exquisite amenities to the nearby must-see sights.

A warm welcome and refined accommodations

From the moment I arrived, the staff exuded warmth and professionalism. Check-in was seamless, and the lobby, with its sophisticated design and ambient lighting, immediately set the tone for what I knew would be a luxurious stay.

My room was a mixture of comfort and elegance. The suite was spacious and the view was incredible. Nestled behind, or in front of (depending on who you ask), the CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Ripley’s Aquarium, Toronto’s skyline illuminates. Plus it’s always fun watching planes take off and land, without the noise of course.

The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a deep soaking tub and a rainfall shower, both designed to wash away the fatigue of travel. High-quality toiletries, fluffy towels, and a generously sized vanity area added to the experience, making it feel like a personal spa retreat.

Unparalleled Amenities

Speaking of spas, the InterContinental Toronto Centre is not just a place to rest your head; it’s a destination in itself. One of the standout amenities was the hotel’s full-service spa, Spa InterContinental. I indulged in a signature massage that reminded me why I need to book more of these. Toronto is a loud city, the hustle and bustle of the streets surrounding the hotel can be a lot at times. So the spa’s serene environment, with soft music and calming scents, was the escape I was looking for.

Intercontinental Toronto Centre Spa Lounge

For fitness enthusiasts, myself included, the hotel offers a state-of-the-art fitness center, complete with cardio machines, free weights, and even personal training sessions upon request.

Azure

Dining at the hotel was an experience in itself. When I get asked which restaurants to recommend downtown I rarely, if ever, suggest a hotel-based option. That’s changed after visiting Azure Restaurant & Bar. Located within the hotel, it offered a diverse menu that highlighted local ingredients and international flavours.

The standout piece was just how fresh everything was and carefully crafted. Refrigerators on display showing fresh produce and our server for dinner Tamika was absolutely incredible. Have to give credit where credit is due. Thanks for the pizza recommendation. Breakfast each morning was a delightful start to the day, with options ranging from fresh pastries to made-to-order omelets. The service was impeccable, with staff attentive to every detail.

Exploring Toronto from a prime location

One of the biggest advantages of staying at the InterContinental Toronto Centre is its unbeatable location. Situated in the heart of downtown, the hotel is within walking distance of some of Toronto’s most iconic attractions. The CN Tower, just a five-minute walk away, offers stunning panoramic views of the city and Lake Ontario. Ripley’s Aquarium, located right next to the CN Tower, is a fantastic experience, especially for families or anyone interested in marine life.

For those interested in culture, the Royal Ontario Museum and Art Gallery of Ontario are just a short cab ride away. Both institutions offer an incredible array of exhibits, from ancient artifacts to contemporary art, making them must-see stops on any trip to Toronto. The hotel’s proximity to the entertainment district means easy access to world-class theatres, bars, and restaurants.

Summer Soirée

Summer Soirée is a new pop-up experience that is open to Torontonians and visitors that runs until September. It features bespoke seasonal bites and cocktails within a summer-inspired setting, right in the heart of Downtown Toronto. The limited time pop-up will be open to experience seekers between 2:30PM and 9:30PM, Monday to Sunday, on a first come, first served basis.

If you want to take the experience a step further, enhance your Summer Soirée experience and take advantage of the hotel’s limited-time ‘See Ontario – New Heights’ package – an elevated offering, perfect for a special occasion or for someone looking to seize the season and fully indulge all weekend long. This includes the following:

    • 2-night stay in the Presidential Suite with Club Lounge access, including a champagne welcome, breakfast buffet and evening hors d’oeuvres
    • $300 F&B credit for dinner at Azure and a $200 credit for Summer Soirée, inclusive of alcoholic beverages
    • Luxury Limo service to and from Niagara Falls, with a helicopter tour to one of the region’s renowned wineries
    • Lunch at the winery, featuring exquisite local cuisine

Overall, my stay at the InterContinental Toronto Centre was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of luxurious accommodations, top-notch amenities, and a prime location makes this hotel a perfect choice for both business and leisure travellers. Whether you’re in town for a weekend getaway or an extended stay, the InterContinental Toronto Centre is an experience that will leave you planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

    ]]>

The internet era has completely changed how we buy insurance, and this also applies to auto insurance. Now we have several options to choose from and make a wise decision. Online policy purchases provide speed, ease, and frequently better prices.

While driving a car on public roads requires having auto insurance, the major function of auto insurance is to shield your vehicle from financial ruin in the event of an accident, theft, natural disaster, etc. The blog will delve into how to navigate car insurance and what you need to keep in mind.

Things to know while navigating car insurance online:

Car insurance is one of the most important things after owning an automobile. Most drivers are covered by collision and comprehensive insurance. 79% of insured drivers purchase comprehensive coverage, and 75% purchase a collision policy in addition to liability insurance. It is crucial to buy car insurance online from reliable sources to get the car insurance at suitable rates. Learn more about how to choose the right car insurance through the article.

    Research and comparison:

Look into other online insurance companies first. Use comparison websites to compare rates, coverage options, and plans. This guarantees you’re obtaining enough coverage for your needs and assists you in finding the best pricing. The more you research, the better you will know about car insurance and its guidelines.

Use internet comparison tools to obtain estimates from several insurance providers. The type and model of the vehicle, age, location, driving record, and claim history are among the variables that affect premiums.

    Recognize your coverage options:

Learn about the several categories of auto insurance, including liability, collision, comprehensive, and uninsured motorist coverage. If you don’t know enough about insurance, reach out to a reliable source to learn about suitable coverage operations. Selecting insurance that meets your needs will be made easier if you are aware of what each type covers.

Depending on your car’s location, value, and use, decide what kind of coverage is necessary. Consider your own damage, comprehensive coverage, personal accident coverage, and third-party liability.

    Look for discounts:

Many insurance companies offer discounts for various reasons, like having a clean driving record, combining policies, or owning a car with specified safety features. If you have a proper driving history, you can get good discounts. Make sure to ask about any discounts that might be available to reduce your premium.

You can contact the sources, and they can help you get good money-saving discounts. Insurers frequently provide discounts for safe driving records, anti-theft equipment, and no-claim incentives.

    Check policy details:

Go over the terms and conditions of any policy you consider carefully. When you finalize the source, thoroughly check their guidelines and terms and conditions. Become familiar with the necessary paperwork and processes for filing claims with the insurance.

Pay close attention to specifics like the claims procedure, deductibles, exclusions, and coverage restrictions. Make sure there are no unanticipated costs or fees. Policy details ensure that everything will be covered and under what circumstances and in what situations.

    Examine financial stability:

It is crucial to check the stability and financial state of the company you are choosing for your car insurance. It is best to investigate the insurance provider’s financial stability.

A corporation that is financially secure is more likely to fulfill its obligations and manage disputes effectively. Also from time to time check what all offers they are providing and how they tackle the different car insurance incidents.

    Customer service:

One of the most crucial to check is how the car insurance companies deal with their customers. Whether they are easily accessible or not. This way you can know whether their services are on time or not.

Assess the insurer’s level of customer service quality. Make sure they provide simple access to help and that you can get support via phone, email, or live chat. Do they provide emergency and instant reaching out services or not?

    Procedure for claims

The simplicity and effectiveness of a car insurance policy’s claim process is among its most crucial features. Inquire about the claims procedure with your insurer when you purchase an automobile insurance policy.

Additionally, look into the insurer’s claim settlement ratio. A company’s claim settlement ratio reveals how many policies are resolved by returning the money that was originally claimed within a year.

Getting reliable online car insurance and getting it claimed during the time of emergency is a crucial thing. To ensure quick access, you need to choose the right car insurance sources. You can save a good amount of money if you compare the prices and then choose the insurance company. You can save your life and your money by using the right tips while making your decision to rely on an insurance company.

As summer slowly fades away and the vibrant colours of autumn come into the spotlight, there’s no better time to start planning a relaxing getaway. Canada is home to stunning landscapes that provide the ideal backdrop for those wanting to unwind this fall. From the rugged beauty of British Columbia to the serene lakes of Ontario, there’s something for every type of traveler. Regarding vacationing in style and comfort, there’s nothing better than the luxury of private air travel. Providers such as Air Charter Service offer a seamless and more discrete way to reach these exclusive destinations, making it easier to disconnect from the wider world and relax in peace and tranquillity. Let’s take a closer look at some of the best private retreats in Canada, ideal for a fall getaway, and how private air travel can take your journey to another level.

Why choose private air travel for your fall getaway?

Your journey to these private retreats should be as hassle-free and relaxing as the time you spend there, but this is seldom the case with commercial air travel. This is where Air Charter Service comes in particularly handy. A private air charter company can provide a never-before-seen level of flexibility and comfort, allowing you to plan your perfect autumnal escape.

    Time-Saving Convenience

Private travel makes it easy to avoid long security lines, regular flight delays, and limited options when booking flights. With a private air travel provider, you can plan your schedule to save as much time as possible.

    Privacy and Comfort

Whether you’re traveling alone or with a group of friends or family members, a private jet provides a greater level of privacy. With roomy cabins and in-flight service, your flight should be the perfect opening act to your relaxing trip.

    Access to Remote Locations

Many of Canada’s most exclusive and disconnected retreats are found in remote areas with limited connectivity to commercial airlines. A private jet can land and take off from smaller airfields, making it easier to get to your destination without transferring.

    Clayoquot wilderness lodge, British Columbia

Found on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is perfect for those looking for a one-of-a-kind experience that will help you connect with wilderness. Surrounded by ancient forests on all sides, the lodge comes with luxurious safari tents that help you unwind and recharge. Add to this the vibrant colours of autumn, and you have a magical region flanked by rivers and mountains.

In British Columbia, guests can enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, and horseback riding during the day and have access to fresh gourmet meals in the evening. In the fall, when the local wildlife is in full effect, the lodge offers salmon-fishing experiences and wildlife-viewing excursions, where they can see bears and elk in their natural habitat.

Fogo Island Inn, Newfoundland and Labrador

Located on the rugged coastline of the North Atlantic Ocean, Fogo Island Inn is a true marvel of architecture that seamlessly aligns with the harsh terrain found in Newfoundland and Labrador. Juxtaposing with the surrounding area yet still looking like it belongs there, each of its suites offers incredible ocean views, while in the fall, the autumn hues perfectly contrast with the harsh sea.

Outside of being an incredible spot for those wanting to appreciate natural beauty, Fogo Island Inn can help provide a wide range of curated experiences that help create an exclusive, bespoke stay. From art workshops to guided walks in nature, Fogo Island Inn has something for every type of traveler. Regarding food, the inn has a variety of dining options that strongly emphasise local ingredients and reflect the best that the island has to offer.

    Fairmont Le Château Montebello, Quebec

If you want to be charmed this fall, Fairmont Le Château Montebello is the perfect choice, especially if you want to learn more about the area’s history and culture. Found hugging the Ottawa River, this resort is one of the largest log cabin-style resorts in the world and is widely regarded as one of Canada’s most impressive hotels.

In the autumn months, the Quebec forests come to life with red, orange, and yellow notes, creating a magical atmosphere that charms and intrigues. The best way to appreciate this magical scenery is to make the most of the outdoor activities offered by resorts like Fairmont Le Château Montebello. Visitors can indulge in hiking, cycling, and golfing or relax in the spa, making it a popular spot for those who want to blend adventure and comfort.

    Planning your autumnal Canadian getaway

Canada’s natural beauty is on full display during the fall. There’s no better way to experience everything Canada offers than visiting one of these private escapes. Choosing a private air charter company will make your journey as memorable as the destination.

The post Tradition, innovation and quality: The heartbeat of the Hacienda Patrón appeared first on GENT'S POST.

Patrón Tequila has long been synonymous with premium quality and exceptional taste. But what most consumers of this tequila don’t see outside of the recognizable bottle and signature green ribbon is the process by which this all comes together. The singular place by which the Patrón reputation was built, maintained and thrives. The Hacienda Patrón is a place where tradition meets innovation and where every bottle of Patrón is crafted with meticulous care. I had the opportunity to spend several days at this exclusive invite-only Hacienda where I took a look behind the curtain into the entire process. In a conversation with Marty Pineault, Patrón Execution Manager & National Brand Ambassador for Canada, we delve into what sets Patrón apart from other tequila producers and how the Hacienda influences its global image.

Traditional methods in a modern world

One of the defining characteristics of Patrón Tequila is its commitment to traditional production methods. Marty Pineault highlights this dedication saying, “At Patrón, we pride ourselves on keeping traditional methods. We choose to continuously replicate the original method of how Patrón was made in 1989, versus automating our production, like many choose to do in order to maximize production output.”

At Patrón, we pride ourselves on keeping traditional methods.

Marty Pineault, Patrón Execution Manager & National Brand Ambassador, FOR Canada

This adherence to traditional methods means that Patrón eschews large-scale automation in favour of hand-crafted techniques. The agave piñas are hand-trimmed and baked in small clay brick ovens, a process that ensures the highest quality and preserves the authentic flavour of the agave.

Patrón trusts in their Agave farming families (some of which they have worked with for generations) to provide them with the high quality product they require. Quality and taste above all

During our discussion, Pineault emphasized the importance of quality and taste in Patrón’s production process. “At Patrón Tequila, the decisions that are made always place quality and taste first, ensuring our product remains our focus. Patrón has industry-leading standards in terms of selecting the quality of our raw ingredients, and we don’t cut any corners in our process. Instead, we choose to do everything in small batches and by hand, to ensure exceptional quality.”

This meticulous approach extends to every aspect of production, from the selection of raw materials to the final bottling, a process mostly done by hand. By maintaining small batch production, Patrón can closely monitor and control the quality of each bottle, ensuring that every sip meets the high standards for which the brand is known.

    Balancing tradition with innovation

While tradition is a cornerstone of Patrón’s production process, innovation also plays a crucial role. According to Pineault, “The balance of tradition and innovation is a testament to the incredible skill of legendary Master Distiller David Rodriguez, and his talented team of distilling artisans. Focusing on tradition, they maintain the time-honoured small batch production process that yields simply perfect tequilas, as we’ve always done, while bringing in new innovations such as Patrón El Cielo, the first of its kind prestige Silver tequila on the market.”

Patrón El Cielo exemplifies this blend of tradition and innovation, offering a unique, premium product that stands out in the market. The introduction of such products demonstrates Patrón’s ability to innovate while staying true to its roots.

The global perception of Patrón Tequila

The Hacienda Patrón is not just a production facility; it is a symbol of the brand’s commitment. A cerebral approach to every detail of the lifecycle of a Patrón bottle. Pineault explains, “From start to finish, all Patrón Tequilas are created at Hacienda Patrón. Regardless of how premium tequila evolves globally, it’s here that we preserve traditional tequila production methods: Hand-trimming and cutting agave before baking it in small clay brick ovens, tahona milling to crush the agave piñas, fermentation in pinewood tanks, and distillation in small copper pot stills. We believe that this emphasis on time-honoured methods keeps our tequilas a class apart and allows us to maintain tradition while driving innovation.”

This commitment to traditional production methods at the Hacienda ensures that Patrón remains a benchmark for quality in the global tequila market. The Hacienda itself has become a symbol of premium tequila, influencing how Patrón is perceived around the world.

Advice for tequila enthusiasts & figuring out your “NOM”

For those looking to deepen their understanding of premium tequila, Pineault offers valuable advice: “We always recommend researching your NOM – the Norma Official Mexicana number – to understand production processes behind your tequila of choice. The NOM number denotes that the bottle is authentic tequila produced in Mexico, and what tequila producer it comes from. If two brands share a NOM number, they were made in the same place and may even share the same process. You’ll only ever see a NOM of 1492 on Patrón Tequila products, because that’s all we make.”

    Exploring Patrón Tequila’s lineup

Patron tequila line up from the in familia

Patrón’s premium lineup includes some standout products, each offering a unique tasting experience:

    1. Patrón Extra Añejo: This tequila is aged for more than three years in oak barrels, giving it a rich, complex flavor with notes of vanilla, dry fruits, and a hint of caramel.
    2. Patrón Reposado: Aged for a minimum of two months, this tequila has a smooth taste with hints of oak, citrus, and honey.
    3. Patrón Silver: Known for its crisp, smooth taste, Patrón Silver offers a fresh agave flavor with subtle citrus and pepper notes.
    4. Patrón El Cielo: A premium silver tequila that combines tradition with innovation, offering a smooth, elevated tasting experience.
    5. Patrón Piedra: A rich amber tequila with earthy and woody aromas, featuring flavors of sweet French toast, chocolate, and caramel, and a long, smooth finish.
    6. Patrón Platinum: A crystal-clear tequila with fresh agave and citrus aromas, offering smooth, sweet flavors of agave and citrus with a light, crisp finish.
    7. Patrón Burdeos: A deep amber tequila with complex aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla, and dried fruits, luxurious flavours of caramel and raisin, and a long, velvety finish with hints of red wine.

    Gent’s Approved: Patrón Tequila

The Patrón Hacienda stands as a testament to the brand’s unwavering commitment to quality and tradition. From the mesmerizing building to the intricate distilling processes, every piece of the Hacienda is intricately connected.

    Head south for cheaper flights

If you’re looking for an affordable adventure, consider heading south. South America is experiencing a surge in traveler interest, with a 31% increase compared to 2023. Destinations like Brazil, Argentina, and Peru are not only rich in culture and natural beauty but also offer some of the most cost-effective flight options this summer. Whether you’re trekking through the Amazon, exploring the vibrant streets of Buenos Aires, or marveling at Machu Picchu, South America provides endless opportunities for adventure and savings.

    It’s Eurotrip season

Europe remains a perennial favorite for summer travelers, and 2024 is no different. Cities like Athens, Lisbon, Rome, and Amsterdam are particularly attractive this year, thanks to their affordable flight options. These destinations offer a mix of historical landmarks, stunning architecture, and delicious cuisine, making them perfect for an unforgettable Eurotrip. With flight prices being more accessible, you can stretch your budget further and perhaps visit multiple European cities on a single trip.

    Plan early to save big

One of the best ways to save on travel this summer is to plan ahead. According to Kayak, mid-May offers the cheapest average airfares of the summer, with prices steadily increasing until they peak in late June and early July. By booking your flights and accommodations early, you can take advantage of lower prices and avoid the last-minute rush. This strategy is especially useful for popular destinations that tend to sell out quickly.

    Explore the US: Affordable hotspots

For those looking to stay closer to home, there are plenty of affordable travel options within the United States. Cities like Fort Lauderdale, Phoenix, and Los Angeles offer some of the cheapest fares this summer. San Francisco and New York are also proving to be more affordable, providing great opportunities to explore iconic American cities without breaking the bank. Whether you’re soaking up the sun on California’s beaches, exploring the deserts of Arizona, or experiencing the vibrant culture of New York City, the US has a lot to offer this summer.

Road tripping for an affordable getaway

If you prefer the flexibility and freedom of a road trip, this summer is a great time to hit the road. Vehicle rentals are seeing a significant drop in prices across international destinations, with the average daily rate dropping by 22%. Road trips allow you to explore at your own pace, discover hidden gems, and enjoy the journey as much as the destination. From scenic coastal drives to breathtaking mountain routes, a road trip can be a cost-effective and memorable way to travel.

Tips for a smooth summer travel experience

    1. Book Early: As mentioned, planning ahead can save you a lot of money, especially if you book your flights and accommodations well in advance.
    2. Stay Flexible: If your travel dates are flexible, you can take advantage of the cheapest days to fly and avoid peak travel times.
    3. Consider Alternative Airports: Sometimes flying into or out of smaller, nearby airports can be cheaper than the major hubs.
    4. Travel Light: Save on baggage fees by packing light and sticking to carry-on luggage where possible.
    5. Use Travel Apps: Utilize apps like Kayak to monitor flight prices, find deals, and stay informed about travel trends.

This summer promises to be a fantastic time for travel, with numerous opportunities to explore new places and enjoy exciting adventures. By staying informed and planning ahead, you can make the most of your summer travels while keeping your budget in check. Happy travels!
