In today’s fashion landscape, jewelry has moved from a supporting role to the spotlight. Sure, countless brands are out there, pushing their own take on the classics—gold and silver rings, sleek herringbone chains, signature-linked bracelets. But the days of jewelry being a quiet accessory are over. It’s no longer just about adding a touch of sparkle or sophistication. Now, jewelry is the moment. It can make or break a look, solidifying its place as a defining element in the style game.

Fashion icons changing the game and bring the sparkle out to play

Thanks to fashion icons like Lenny Kravitz, Lewis Hamilton, Harry Styles, Pharrell, and even movie stars like Michael B. Jordan—believe me, I could go on—men’s jewelry has entered a full-blown renaissance, and I couldn’t be more excited. We’re talking about a new era where these style trailblazers are smashing through gender norms and introducing a more fluid, boundary-pushing approach to fashion. This shift has unlocked a world of possibilities—stones, textures, pearls, and even a little sparkle are no longer off-limits. Whether your style leans toward timeless classics or bold, expressive pieces (or a mix of both), the jewelry scene in 2024 has something for every vibe. Gone are the days when men were restricted to a basic chain or standard wedding band. Now, it’s all about self-expression and pushing the limits.

These are the 10 Jewelry brands you need to add onto your radar…

The entire fashion landscape—and how we view gender’s role within it—has taken a bold turn, and I’d say it’s for the better. New and emerging brands are stepping up, challenging the old guard, and tossing aside the tired “watch and chain” mentality. These brands are embracing everything from maximalist designs and sleek utilitarianism to sophisticated takes that blur the lines between masculinity and femininity, all viewed through the lens of creative disruption. So, if you’re ready to level up your accessory game, here are 10 jewelry brands you need on your radar right now—some of them proudly born in Canada.

Le Gramme’s creations draw strength from their clean, repetitive forms, offering endless possibilities for layering and self-expression. In a major development for Canada’s expanding luxury market, TimeVallée has opened its first flagship store at Montreal’s highly anticipated Royalmount shopping centre. This store marks TimeVallée’s debut in Canada and its 50th boutique worldwide, signifying the brand’s commitment to broadening its international presence. In partnership with Maison Birks, a Canadian luxury icon, TimeVallée offers a curated selection of prestigious watch brands, blending rich heritage with modern craftsmanship.

Jean-Christophe Bédos, President and CEO of Birks Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: “We’re thrilled to bring something entirely new to the Canadian market. TimeVallée offers an international luxury watch experience that is perfectly aligned with the growing demand for high-end retail in Canada. With Royalmount poised to become a major luxury destination, we’re confident that TimeVallée will help solidify that status.”

For Emmanuel Perrin, CEO of TimeVallée and Head of Specialist Watchmakers Distribution, running Richemont’s Specialist Watchmaker’s Maisons, the expansion into Canada was a natural progression: “Canada is a market we’ve had our eye on for some time, and partnering with Birks made perfect sense for us. We’ve had a longstanding relationship with Maison Birks through several of our brands, which allowed us to hit the ground running. This Montreal boutique is just the beginning, and we have exciting plans for the future.”

A global gateway to luxury watchmaking: TimeVallée

Founded in Switzerland, TimeVallée, a Richemont brand, is renowned for offering an immersive and educational luxury watch retail experience. Unlike traditional mono-brand boutiques, TimeVallée brings together over 30 prestigious watch Maisons under one roof. The Montreal boutique includes iconic brands such as Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Chopard, Grand Seiko, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, and Piaget, making it a destination for both seasoned collectors and newcomers to the world of luxury watches.

The store’s design plays a crucial role in creating an inviting and luxurious atmosphere. The 2,800 sq. ft. space at Royalmount is inspired by the curves of Swiss valleys, with a colour palette of golden and champagne hues that reflect the elegance and craftsmanship of the watches. Each brand has its own dedicated space within the store, allowing customers to explore the unique heritage of each Maison.

“We designed TimeVallée to be open and welcoming, so customers can fully immerse themselves in the art of watchmaking,” said Perrin. “It’s about creating a space where both seasoned collectors and newcomers feel comfortable. We want to inspire a new generation of watch lovers who might be taking their first steps into the world of luxury watches.”

One of the store’s standout features is its interactive and educational approach. TimeVallée aims to demystify the world of luxury watches by making it accessible to everyone. “Our goal is to create an experience where customers can learn about the intricate craftsmanship behind each timepiece. Whether you’re here to make a purchase or simply explore, we want TimeVallée to feel like a welcoming space for all,” Perrin added.

The future of Canada’s luxury market

The opening of TimeVallée at Royalmount is part of a broader effort to elevate Canada’s luxury shopping landscape. With other high-end brands like Rolex (operated by Raffi Jewellers), Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Saint Laurent, Sandro, Versace and more, are also setting up shop at Royalmount, this new shopping centre is expected to rival Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre as a key luxury hub. For Montreal, Royalmount represents a significant leap forward in the city’s ability to attract high-end retailers and cater to the growing demand for luxury goods.

Royalmount is a game changer for Montreal…

Jean-Christophe Bédos, President and CEO of Birks Group

“Royalmount is a game changer for Montreal,” said Bédos. “It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally seeing the infrastructure that high-end brands need to thrive in Canada. We believe this will become a focal point for luxury shopping not just in Montreal, but across the country.”

Bédos emphasized that Canada’s shifting demographics are driving the demand for luxury products. “Canada’s population is growing by about a million people a year, and many of these new Canadians come from countries where luxury shopping is part of their lifestyle. We’re seeing increased demand for high-end products, and TimeVallée is well-positioned to meet that demand.”

Looking ahead: Expanding TimeVallée’s presence in Canada

The Montreal boutique may be TimeVallée’s first Canadian location, but it certainly won’t be the last. TimeVallée has ambitious plans for the Canadian market, with the next store set to open at Vancouver’s Oakridge Centre in 2025. Perrin noted, “This is just the beginning for TimeVallée in Canada. We’re excited to bring our unique approach to other cities and continue building relationships with Canadian luxury consumers.”

As Canada’s luxury market continues to expand, the arrival of TimeVallée and the development of Royalmount signal a new era for high-end retail in the country. With its focus on heritage, innovation, and accessibility, TimeVallée is poised to make a lasting impact on the Canadian luxury landscape.

Perrin concluded, “The luxury watch industry is evolving, and so are our customers. We want TimeVallée to be a place where people come not only to shop, but to learn, experience, and connect with the world of fine watchmaking. We’re excited to be part of Canada’s growing luxury scene.”

Over the last couple of years I’ve had the opportunity to travel to some incredible destinations across the globe. From Nassau to Barcelona and Reykjavik in between, I’ve gotten my share of nature and urban cities. But nothing prepared me for the natural wonders and beauty that lay in my own Canadian backyard. But for this adventure, I wanted to push myself further—to navigate these raw landscapes and truly experience the wilderness. So it was only fitting that my adventure to the picturesque Canadian outdoors came at the invitation of Citizen Watch Canada, a brand synonymous with pushing boundaries. The task was straightforward…to go beyond. To go further.

Arriving at CMH Bugaboos Lodge

The Canadian Rockies stretch across western Canada, their jagged peaks rising like ancient guardians of the wild. For adventurers, this is sacred ground—a place where nature’s beauty and power come together in awe-inspiring harmony. Equipped with my gear, a sense of excitement, and a solid companion—my Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T, I was ready for whatever the Rockies had in store. The watch wasn’t just a style choice; it was an essential part of my expedition.

My journey started at the highly regarded CMH Bugaboos Lodge. As the helicopter descended toward the lodge, nestled deep in the heart of the Bugaboo Provincial Park, my anticipation surged. The lodge itself felt like something out of a dream, tucked into the base of towering granite spires that reached toward the sky. It’s one of the most remote and exclusive lodges in the Rockies, renowned for its luxury and proximity to some of the most breathtaking terrain in the world.

I stepped off the helicopter into the crisp, cool mountain air. Immediately, the grandeur of the landscape hit me—soaring glaciers, pristine valleys, and rugged mountain faces. The Bugaboos are famous for their remoteness, but the lodge itself offered a cozy haven with the finest amenities. After a hearty meal and orientation with our guides, I prepared for the first adventure—a trek across the terrain. Back into the heli we went and up and away but despite how much higher we climbed, the peaks didn’t get that much smaller. A reminder of how big they are and more importantly, how small we really are.

Heli hiking

I recall stepping out of the chopper on top of the mountain, getting my bearings (heli’s take a few trips to adjust to) and now I was ready. The group that had arrived prior to mine was already taking selfies, videos and producing a particular tik tok trend. It wasn’t until I looked in the opposite direction that I stopped in my tracks and lost my words. As a podcaster, you never lose your words. It was like something I’d seen on computer screensavers as a kid. Breathtaking.

image: samir mourani on top of a ridge; credit william drumm

After snapping some photos and some vids, so I can show off on my socials of course, it was time to go on our first official trek. My guide Roko, of whom no amount of description could do justice to the character that he is, decided for the “fast” group, he was going to run. I thought he was joking. Roko started running. First lesson.

I must also admit, I didn’t realize how much harder it is to run at that altitude and suddenly I questioned my decision to have that extra loaf of bread. Rookie mistake. Second lesson. After stopping to take in the epic views at the top of our trek, we noticed a natural lake built into the mountains at a distance. One we’d visit a few days later. But the main lesson of the day was one I’d never forget. Stand a full body’s length away from the edge. Because if you’re too close and you find yourself losing your footing, well… “you’re fucking golden” as Roko would say.

A reliable companion: The Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T

I’ve been on several brand trips before and the ones that stand out are the ones that put the product to the test in the environment they are meant to be in. So before setting out, I took a moment to check my Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T. This beautifully crafted piece of wristwear was to be my companion for the trip. As a multi-functional watch designed for adventure, it offered absolute precision, look and feel. The type to suit any modern gent.

The Eco-Drive technology was especially useful, as it runs on light, meaning I didn’t have to worry about charging or changing batteries—an essential feature for a multi-day mountain adventure. With its super titanium case, it remained lightweight but durable, ensuring that it could withstand any accidental knocks, and believe me, there were several. It felt like I was wearing more than just a watch, it was a swiss-army knife on my wrist and I was prepared to take on the challenges ahead.

Promasters in the wild

It’s not everyday you get to trek through the Canadian rockies at crazy high altitudes with beautiful scenery. It’s even less likely you’ll get to do it while surrounded by some of the world’s greatest adventure seekers and trendsetters.

Image: L-R Jeff Shapiro, William Drumm, Jody Macdonald, Will Gadd; image by troy barmore

Let’s start by getting formal introductions out of the way. Jeff Shapiro is a wingsuit pilot…I could stop there but it goes on. He’s a rock climber and paraglider. William Drumm is a world renowned diver with significant expeditions under his belt including some work with Billie Eilish. Jody MacDonald is an award-winning adventure photographer and explorer known for capturing images off the beaten path. Finally is Will Gadd, a legendary Canadian climber, paraglider and world record holder. When you’re surrounded by this caliber of people, it’s not hard to be sucked into their world and just listen as they talk about the challenges and hurdles they’ve overcome over years of honing their craft. If these legends decided to join forces and become Promasters, it should tell you something. They embodied what Citizen stands for. Going further, deeper and beyond.

The Ascent: Climbing Through the Clouds

As we ascended higher into the Rockies, the terrain shifted from soft alpine meadows to jagged rock formations. It was tough going, but the rewards were worth it: shimmering alpine lakes that mirrored the surrounding peaks and untouched valleys. After hours of hiking, we reached a high ridge that offered unparalleled panoramic views. The horizon seemed endless, with glaciers glinting in the sunlight and distant peaks disappearing into the clouds. This was the essence of adventure—being surrounded by something far greater than yourself.

credit: Garrett Jones of Worn & Wound

My Skyhawk, with its anti-reflective sapphire crystal dial, remained clear and readable even in the bright alpine sun. Its water resistant nature soon to be tested by mountain weather. This would later come in handy – read on to find out about an unexpected 6 hour trek in the pouring rain.

2 hours away from being 2 hours away

On what ended up being the last hike of this adventure, a group of us, guide included (Roko of course), decided to take an easy trek. One, maybe two hours of hiking before the heli would pick us back up. Except as soon as we landed and the heli flew off, there was something eerie about the clouds quickly converging over us. Not long after, downpour. Thus began what would be the most challenging part of this journey.

image: (L) will gadd (R) Tyson Apostol canyoning; image credit troy barmore

The only way back was through. Through the mountain wilderness, the wet ground beneath and the miserable grey that covered us. I knew this wasn’t going to be easy. I wasn’t worried about the physical, it was a mental game. Can I survive unrelenting conditions with literally no escape option but the path ahead? Every so often Roko would yodel, to which I came to understand was a way to inform any nearby bears that we exist and are trekking through. Did I forget to mention bears? Roko had stopped at one point to intensely scan his surroundings before pulling out his bear spray…uh oh. Suddenly we’re all on high alert and of course in that moment my balance decided to disappear and next thing I know I’m in a pool of water.

credit garrett Jones of worn & wound

Back up and functional, the trek continued. “How much longer?” someone dared ask. “Two hours away” Roko remarked. Except he would later state “we’re about two hours away from being two hours away” half jokingly half serious. At that point the only thing distracting the group was a debate about whether we’d prefer beautifully seasoned and tasty ribs or, my personal favourite, chicken wings back at the lodge. We need to build up a reward for the trek we were on.

By the time we finally returned to the lodge, soaked to the bones, the sun was beginning to set. The long, physically demanding day had given me a deeper appreciation for the Rockies and the unique adventure I was just on. I was miserable, I was angry but I survived. As I shed my gear and looked at the time, my Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T reflecting the long journey I was on, reminded me of its durability. Despite being exposed the entirety of the journey, it was the only piece of gear that went unscathed. Couldn’t say the same for my camera…or my phone.

Go beyond

The Rockies demand respect, but they also offer unparalleled rewards for those willing to push beyond their limits. Whether you’re navigating treacherous glaciers or relaxing at the Bugaboos Lodge, the right gear makes all the difference. The Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T wasn’t just a watch; it was my reliable companion, offering precision, durability, and style in one. From the breathtaking peaks of the Canadian Rockies to the everyday city hustle, this watch is built for adventure. It serves as a reminder that, like the mountains themselves, life is best when you’re fully prepared and ready to embrace the unknown.

The Citizen way

In 2023, I participated in a similar trip with Citizen in Nassau. We took the slogan of go deeper quite literal as we went diving with sharks in the ocean. Yes you read that right. I recall receiving the press guide with shark info and thinking to myself – it’s best not to think about it. There are brands that say they want to push the limits and then there are even fewer brands that PUSH the limits. Citizen is one of those brands.

image: (L) Samir Mourani, (R) Zahra Hemraj; credit troy barmore

So when Zahra Hemraj, the Director of Marketing & Data Integration, sent me a text asking me how I felt about hiking in the Rockies, I knew it was going to push my limits again. When she sent the press materials and included several pages about bear awareness…well I reminded myself it was best not to think about it. This was the adventure of a lifetime. A perfect blend of exploration, relaxation and incredible humans. Thank you Citizen, thank you Zahra, thank you to the CMH guides who made taking care of a group of first-timers look effortless.

Image: the promaster citizen watch press team

I packed my bags, said my goodbyes and hopped onto the heli but not before one last look at the screensaver. I’ll be back soon. When I am, you can bet I’ll have my wrist gear ready to go with me.

The post 4 reasons why switching to a standing desk will transform your health & productivity appeared first on GENT'S POST.

In today’s modern work environment, most of us spend hours sitting at our desks. Whether it’s meetings, emails, or working on projects, long periods of sitting have become the norm. However, recent research shows that sitting for extended periods may not only affect your physical health but also your mental well-being. Enter the standing desk, a dynamic alternative that encourages a healthier and more productive workday.

The science behind sitting & its effects

Sitting for prolonged periods has been associated with a variety of health risks. Some of the most concerning issues include:

image: Athena standing desk in black from rove concepts; product can be found here
  • Increased risk of heart disease: Studies show that sitting for more than eight hours a day can contribute to an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Sitting slows down metabolism, which affects the body’s ability to regulate blood sugar, blood pressure, and break down body fat, all factors that contribute to heart disease.
  • Poor posture and back pain: Sitting, especially with improper posture, can lead to spine misalignment, tight hips, and weakened core muscles, which can cause chronic lower back pain.
  • Decreased mental health: Research has also linked sedentary behavior to mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Long stretches of sitting may reduce the production of endorphins and disrupt mood-regulating hormones.

Given these risks, it’s clear that sitting for long periods isn’t doing our bodies—or minds—any favours. So, what’s the solution?

Why standing desks are a game-changer

Standing desks have risen in popularity in recent years, offering a simple yet effective way to counter the negative effects of sitting. Here are the key benefits of switching to a standing desk:

image: Athena standing desk in white from rove concepts

1. Improves posture

When you stand, your spine naturally aligns, and you are more aware of your posture. This helps reduce the common issues associated with sitting, such as slouching and hunching over your desk. With better posture, you’ll experience fewer aches and pains, particularly in your lower back and shoulders.

2. Boosts energy and mood

Standing while working increases blood flow, which in turn boosts your energy levels. Many users report feeling more alert and focused throughout the day, as well as a noticeable improvement in their overall mood. When you’re not slumped in a chair for hours, your body is more engaged, and this can have a positive effect on mental clarity.

3. Enhances productivity

Standing desks encourage you to move more, whether it’s shifting your weight or stepping away for short breaks. This slight movement helps prevent mental fatigue, allowing you to remain more productive throughout the day. Studies have shown that standing desks can lead to better concentration and increased efficiency at work.

4. Reduces the risk of weight gain

Standing burns more calories than sitting. Even though it may not feel like a workout, standing can help prevent the weight gain that often comes with long hours of sitting. Some studies suggest that standing for an extra three hours per day can burn around 30,000 more calories over the course of a year!

The Athena Standing Desk: The ideal solution for a healthier workspace

If you’re looking to invest in a standing desk that not only delivers functionality but also style, the Athena Standing Desk from Rove Concepts is an excellent choice. It’s not just about making the switch to a healthier workspace—this desk is designed with attention to both aesthetic appeal and practical features that make it a standout in the market.

image: Athena standing desk in white from rove concepts

Most of us have been prioritizing home decor while balancing functionality when it comes to our living spaces. As remote work continues to be a thing (thankfully), having an aesthetically pleasing home office space is essential. If you don’t have the ability to have a private office and have to use a section of your living room, that makes the look and feel of your workspace even more important. Now instead of having the usual basic looking desk fill that ever-important space in your home, why not consider a desk that looks like it’s straight out of a home decor magazine.

With a simple push of a button, you can switch between sitting and standing, customizing the height to your comfort level. The smooth and quiet motor makes adjustments effortless, so you can transition between positions without interrupting your workflow.

Sustainably crafted

In keeping with the principles of eco-conscious design, the Athena Standing Desk is crafted from sustainably sourced materials. This makes it an excellent choice for those who want to minimize their environmental footprint without compromising on quality.

Incorporating standing into your daily routine

While standing desks offer numerous health benefits, it’s important to transition gradually. Here are some tips to incorporate standing into your workday without overwhelming your body:

  • Start slow: Begin by standing for 15-30 minutes at a time, then gradually increase this duration as your body adapts.
  • Alternate between sitting and standing: A standing desk like the Athena makes it easy to switch between positions, so take advantage of this feature.
  • Use a mat for comfort: Anti-fatigue mats can help alleviate pressure on your feet and legs during long periods of standing.

Gent’s Approved

The benefits of standing desks are undeniable—from improved posture and increased energy to enhanced productivity. If you’re ready to make the switch, consider the Athena Standing Desk by Rove Concepts, a top-tier option that combines luxury, functionality, and health benefits. Standing more throughout the day could be the key to transforming your workspace and boosting both your health and productivity.

CLARE W KELLER UNIQLO C FW 2024 Fall Winter COLLECTION INTERVIEW MEN'S FASHION MENSWEAR NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Clare Waight Keller’s move from high-fashion couture to the accessible global giant UNIQLO has turned heads, but it’s clear she’s ready to make her mark in a new way. Known for her sophisticated designs that blend elegance with functionality, Keller is taking on the role of creative director with a fresh perspective. What’s especially exciting is her new focus on menswear, a category she’s integrating seamlessly into her broader design philosophy, along with her striking use of colour to connect with UNIQLO’s vast, global audience.

Keller’s first menswear line with UNIQLO, part of the Fall/Winter 2024 UNIQLO : C collection, marks a new chapter not just for her but for the brand. And at the heart of her design vision is a commitment to creating pieces that work across cultural and gender boundaries, offering a level of versatility that speaks to modern, global fashion consumers. “Why not be amazing to be able to dress that many people on a global scale and affect change in that way?” she said, when we sat down for a quick chat at an event in NYC as NYFW kicked off. Going on to mention that she’s excited about the reach her designs will now have. As she steps into her role, it’s clear that she’s bringing a fresh approach to UNIQLO—one that’s as much about innovation and versatility as it is about challenging traditional norms.

Menswear: a new frontier for Keller

While Clare Keller is no stranger to luxury womenswear, her new focus on menswear with UNIQLO represents a significant shift. The brand has always catered to a strong male customer base, with half of its shoppers being men, but Keller’s involvement adds a new layer of sophistication and depth to UNIQLO’s menswear offerings.

“For me, I’ve always loved the interplay between the utility of men’s clothing and the elegance of womenswear,” she shared. This collection allows her to push that dynamic further, offering pieces that feel modern and practical while remaining true to UNIQLO’s LifeWear philosophy—providing comfort, function, and quality at accessible price points. “I wanted to create pieces that feel timeless, but still have that modern, city-ready look.”

The menswear in the UNIQLO : C collection is full of standout pieces that reflect this approach, including oversized broadcloth shirts, relaxed wool-blend knits, and a versatile utility parka designed with performance in mind. These pieces are not just practical but elevated, showcasing Keller’s ability to marry comfort with sophisticated design. “The parka is one of my favorite pieces—it’s hyper-light, showerproof, and has an extended collar for that extra level of functionality, but it’s still incredibly stylish,” she said.

Colour as a signature: making her mark

One of the most noticeable ways Keller is making her mark at UNIQLO is through colour. While the brand is known for its simplicity, Keller has injected a new level of vibrancy and nuance into the Fall/Winter 2024 collection, using colour to add depth and cohesion across menswear and womenswear.

“The first thing I did when I got involved was focus on colour,” she revealed. “I wanted to bring in more nuanced tones—shades that make sense together, that allow people to mix and match easily.” This approach is a departure from the brand’s previous ‘rainbow’ approach to colour, offering instead a more curated palette where pieces work in harmony. Whether it’s the deep indigos of the Japanese denim or the mustard yellow that’s already trending, her focus is on colours that connect visually and emotionally with customers across the world.

It’s this attention to detail that sets her work apart. The use of colour in this collection is not just about aesthetics—it’s about functionality and versatility. “For me, it’s about making sure that when someone walks into a UNIQLO store, they can easily put pieces together. The colours should work naturally, whether you’re picking up a jean from menswear or a knit from womenswear,” she said.

Already, her choices are resonating with UNIQLO’s global customer base. During a recent trip to Tokyo, Keller observed some of her new colours, like a vibrant mustard yellow and a soft melange green, already becoming top sellers. This kind of impact speaks to her ability to blend her luxury background with UNIQLO’s commitment to making quality fashion accessible.

A global vision for LifeWear

As Clare Keller steps into her new role, she brings a global perspective that reflects both her past experience and UNIQLO’s vast reach. The brand’s commitment to LifeWear—clothing designed for everyday life, with a focus on quality, comfort, and timelessness—aligns perfectly with Keller’s philosophy of creating pieces that transcend borders.

“I travel a lot for work, and one of the things I love is walking through cities and observing how people dress. It gives me a real sense of how people want to look and feel in their clothes,” she said. Her global outlook means she’s constantly thinking about how fashion trends will resonate with customers not just in Tokyo or London, but around the world. “You can’t impose your vision of fashion on people—you have to feel what’s in the air.”

This international approach is crucial as Keller works to evolve UNIQLO’s collections to be more culturally aware, while still keeping the brand’s DNA intact. From the oversized, baggy silhouettes currently in style to her predictions of how trends will shift in the next 12 to 18 months, Keller is already shaping the future of LifeWear in a way that feels modern and relevant.

Menswear and beyond: a sustainable future

As UNIQLO’s new creative director, Keller is also deeply invested in the future of fabric innovation and sustainability. “The fabric technology here is incredible,” she shared. “Some of the fabrics we’re working on take 18 months to develop, and the science behind them is amazing.” This innovation allows Keller to create pieces that aren’t just visually stunning but are high-performing in terms of functionality and sustainability.

Currently, about 25% of UNIQLO’s collections include sustainable materials, but Keller is eager to push that number higher. “We’re always working toward more eco-friendly practices, and I think that’s going to be a huge focus for us going forward,” she noted. As she integrates sustainability into her designs, it’s clear that Keller sees this as an essential part of her role in shaping the future of fashion.

Redefining LifeWear: a new standard for global fashion

Clare Waight Keller’s arrival at UNIQLO marks a turning point for the brand and for the designer herself. Her ability to blend the utility of menswear with the elegance of womenswear, all while focusing on accessibility, colour, and sustainability, is setting a new standard for what LifeWear can be. For a global brand like UNIQLO, this is exactly the kind of fresh perspective needed to stay relevant in an ever-evolving fashion landscape.

As she moves forward, Keller is poised to continue challenging traditional fashion norms, pushing boundaries, and making fashion more inclusive and accessible to people around the world. “This isn’t about scaling down luxury; it’s about bringing good design to everyone,” she said.

With Clare Waight Keller at the helm, the future of UNIQLO is brighter—and more stylish—than ever.

The Breguet Type XX collection has long been regarded as a symbol of precision and innovation in the world of luxury aviation watches. This storied line, which originated in the 1950s, was developed for the French naval air army as a functional tool for military pilots. The combination of robust design and cutting-edge horological technology made the Type XX indispensable for aviators of its time. Today, the Breguet Type XX Chronographe 2067 reinvents that classic aesthetic, offering modern-day watch enthusiasts an opportunity to own a timepiece that balances historical significance with contemporary flair.

In 2023, Breguet launched a refreshed version of the Type XX series, showcasing two distinct models—one inspired by military heritage and another drawing from more civilian styles. Both designs maintain the rugged spirit of their predecessors while integrating modern technology to meet the needs of today’s watch connoisseurs.

Blending tradition with technology

The Type XX Chronographe 2067 combines vintage aviation elements with modern advancements in watchmaking. A key feature of the new model is its flyback chronograph function, which was a crucial tool for mid-century pilots. This function allows users to reset and restart the chronograph instantly with a single push, streamlining operations that require precise timing. Originally designed for complex maneuvers in the sky, the flyback feature remains relevant today for a variety of uses, whether timing athletic events or other tasks that demand exactitude.

What truly sets the Chronographe 2067 apart is its Calibre 728 self-winding movement. This engine, which powers the timepiece, delivers an impressive 60-hour power reserve—ensuring that the watch remains operational even after several days without winding. Moreover, Breguet’s innovative use of silicon components in the movement, such as the balance spring and escapement, enhances the watch’s resistance to magnetic fields and daily wear. Silicon is known for being lightweight, durable, and extremely reliable—attributes that further elevate the performance of this high-end timepiece.

Built for precision and Pperformance

The 42mm stainless steel case of the Type XX Chronographe 2067 offers a rugged yet refined design that ensures durability without sacrificing style. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters, making it versatile enough to handle outdoor expeditions and water-based activities. Its bidirectional rotating bezel allows the wearer to easily measure elapsed time, which is another nod to the watch’s aviation origins. This functionality was essential for pilots who needed to monitor flight time and fuel levels during long missions.

The dial, which features luminescent hands and markers, enhances visibility in low-light environments, whether in a cockpit or on an evening adventure. The watch also includes 15-minute and 12-hour counters, offering additional tools for timing various tasks. Every element of the design is carefully crafted to ensure maximum utility while maintaining the luxurious aesthetic that Breguet is known for.

The sapphire caseback provides a view of the intricate movement, allowing the wearer to appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into the 350 individual components. It’s a blend of artistry and technical expertise that makes the Chronographe 2067 a true masterpiece.

Versatility for every occasion

One of the standout features of the Type XX Chronographe 2067 is its versatility. Breguet provides the watch with two interchangeable straps—one made of calfskin leather and the other from NATO fabric. This design choice reflects the watch’s adaptability, allowing it to transition effortlessly between formal and casual settings. The quick-change strap system lets the wearer switch between straps with ease, depending on the occasion or personal preference. Whether you’re at a formal event or exploring the outdoors, this timepiece seamlessly complements any outfit.

A legacy worth wearing

The Breguet Type XX Chronographe 2067 is more than just a watch—it’s a piece of history, encapsulating the brand’s long-standing connection to aviation. From its origins as a military tool to its current status as a luxury watch, the Type XX remains a symbol of both performance and elegance. For modern collectors, it offers the perfect blend of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary innovation. The meticulous attention to detail, from the flyback chronograph to the silicon-enhanced movement, makes this watch a must-have for those who value precision, performance, and timeless design.

Whether you’re drawn to the watch for its aviation history or its modern-day functionality, the Type XX Chronographe 2067 exemplifies Breguet’s commitment to excellence. Its durable construction, versatile features, and sophisticated design ensure it stands out in any collection, making it a treasured addition for watch aficionados and history enthusiasts alike.

For anyone looking to invest in a timepiece that combines technological advancements with a rich historical background, the Breguet Type XX Chronographe 2067 is a brilliant choice, encapsulating the best of both worlds. This model isn’t just about telling time—it’s about embodying a legacy that continues to inspire adventure and precision to this day.
